Glen Popple, a 1990 graduate of The Milwaukee School of Engineering, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. Now considering himself a recovering engineer he started writing in the mid-90’s and met with some success with the Tales of the Mutant Barmonkeys, a comedy web series.
After trying his hand at screen writing with a script with the working title of Two of Me he then wrote, produced and directed Port of Call, a sci-fi comedy under the newly formed Mutant Barmonkey Productions, LLC. During post-production of Port of Call he made the feature-length documentary 99 Bottles, a story of the Wisconsin
micro-brewing industry. After completed several more shorts he was contacted by Ross Bigley to premiere Port of Call through the Milwaukee Independent Film Society at the prestigious Lubar Auditorium.
The first meeting with Ross led to Glen’s role as the Director of Photography on the feature film Petty Cash, shown at left with Edy Cullen. Following this were credits in films such as Bring Me The Head of Harry Jones, The Bananas, WWRD (What Would Randy Do?) and No Touchie Touchie, the winner of Best Comedy at the Wildwood Film Festival.
Since then he's Produced Yellow Hill: The Stranger's Tale with Bai Ling and Ross Bigley, winning Best Narrative Short at the South Dakota Film Festival and the first Founder's Choice Award at Wildwood, The Bad Girl starring Natasha Nafrini, Super Deluxe with Mark and Leslie Maj, starring Robert Kennedy, which was another Founder's Choice winner. Currently the feature Zombie Frat House is in post production.
And this just in...Quack! with John Van Slyke, Robert Kennedy, and Matt Huebsch once again took the Founder's Choice award at Wildwood!
